Canon EOS Photo5, Confetti | Inspiration #016

Monty's New Toy

PHOTOGRAPHER: Chris Cooper

PHOTO DESCRIPTION

To celebrate good times I was going i got my friends daughter to come around and start playing with confetti and chocolate and lollies. Instead my dog was the one to get more of a kick out of it then my friend. I then got her and my dog playing around and this picture came out. They both aren't even in full view but the way the photo flows with colour was a real treat. I hope you smile as much as I when you see it.

Camera: Canon EOS 1000D

Colour Wheel

PHOTOGRAPHER: Bernard Winter

PHOTO DESCRIPTION

One man band this evening so had to be creative in terms of object and light positioning assistance. Using the projector again I found that shooting through a fan also splits colours up. Pretty cool. Love this photo for it's angles and dimension.

PHOTO DETAILS

Camera: Canon EOS 7D
Lens: Tamron EF-S 17-50 mm F/2.8
Aperture: F/2.8

Hands Say Clap Clap WIP ONE | 8 Bit Journey #034

This a collection of stills, shot over the day utilizing my Canon 7D in tandem with the Canon Timer Remote [TC-80N3]. Still to be cut in, will be all the video shot, in addition to the final scene which will be a house party.

One thing I learnt throughout the day was using the cheap ND 8 filter I had was a bad idea. It really shifted the colours quite a bit so I decided to ditch it pretty early. Invest in a good Variable ND and that will save that grief.

The video itself below is just everything stretched to the entirety of the song. As I go I'll chop things out, add things, repeat things, change colours, etc.

Melbourne DSLR & RED Meetup One | Event #001

Last night was the first event I have been to that heavily featured twitter identities which was a touch strange to begin with but glad to say the meet up was both informative and very much like any other technical meet up. Intelligent and Social.

The event itself featured Cail Young giving a break down of his current Red One / 5D MKII workflow on Offspring, a showcase of a couple of popular DSLR rigs from Lemac and all round discussion on the current landscape of digital cinematography/photography acquisition.

Really great to see a couple companies involved supporting the event. Including Genus with their Viewfinder & Follow Focus up for grabs as prizes & also providing food and beverage for the attendees. Red Giant Software for having a copy of Grinder and a copy of Looks, up for grabs. Also, and this was the real prize for the night, Cail Young providing one lucky winner, one week of free hire of a kitted out RED One. Now that's a prize for a first meet up.

Special thanks goes to Nathan Rodger for hosting/organising the event. Cail and Lemac for speaking and Loop BarRed Giant Software & Genus for supporting the event. Really good evening all round and I would say there is a good chance of another.

The Green Screen Shoot | 8 Bit Journey #001

Mr Timo Kentley thought it would be a good idea for me to blog my journey into making 4 music videos in 7 days for a mates band 8 Bit Love. So that's exactly what I'm going to do.

Right now off to the Green Screen shoot at Channel 31 HQ. This will provide a majority of the band content for the week.

Equipment is pretty minimal with two Canon 7D's (thanks Steve for the second camera). One shooting stills and the other shooting 1080p at 24fps. Few other integral parts include Lexar FireWire 800 compact flash card reader and my old faithful MacBook Pro which is getting a touch long in the tooth.
