EOS Photo5 Registration Reminder | Competition #003

EOS Photo5 competition reminder!

The thing with this photo comp is, if you don't register, you don't get an inspiration box, then you can't enter all the briefs. Simple as that..... I hope Chris and I get ours in the first batch.... so don't delay, if your a photo nut like we are, get inspired to take some great photo's. If your in Melbourne town and want to come out for a shoot hit us up.

More info below....

Except from EOS Photo5
"For those of you who are not yet familiar with how the competition works, five everyday objects are placed in a small box and sent out to registered participants. These are then used as inspiration for the images submitted for the five different briefs."

Registration is free. Register at www.canon.com.au/worldofeos/photo5/.
There is a backup brief if you don't indeed get an inspiration pack, but there's still time.....

AND get this...... the brand new, not available yet, EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye lens is up for grabs for the portfolio winner. That's killer. There is also a heap more cool prizes too, so check the site here.

Positive Posters: 'Design-Off' | Event #002

Positive Posters held a Battle of the Universities at the Apple Store in Doncaster shopping centre. It was a hell of lot of fun to attend and shoot.

The participants. Six Students in total, Two each from Swinburne, Monash and Box Hill in a one hour competition for design supremacy.

The guidelines. The one hour time limit was evenly split in two. One half was to quickly search and sketch their ideas on the Apple iPad. The other half was to finalise their ideas in Adobe Illustrator CS5, on the Apple iMac. The Inspiration "Outta Sight, Outta Mind".

The actual setup in store was very interesting. Both iPad & iMacs were set to live stream to the onlooking crowd and the web. There was also a heap of tweeting and facebook updating going on too.

The contest. The Swinburne boys were working swiftly getting off to a great start in illustrator with what seemed to be an idea that they were set upon creating right from the start. The Monash boys were struggling to weave their minds (even with the Monash crowns) but working hard nonetheless and finished stong. The Box Hill Tafe Girls were off to a shaky start but quickly built a very nice visual that made for a tight finish for all competitors.
